Sister Swap: Christmas in the City
Dec 12, 2021
Starring Ashley Williams & Kimberly Williams-Paisley
Real-life sisters Ashley Williams (“Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater,” “The Jim Gaffigan Show”) and Kimberly Williams-Paisley (“Darrow Mysteries,” Father of the Bride) star as two sisters who unexpectedly find just what each needed when in “Sister Swap: Christmas in the City,” a new, original movie premiering Sunday, December 12 (8 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Channel. Keith Robinson (“Redemption in Cherry Springs,” “Saints and Sinners”) and Kevin Nealon (“Man with a Plan,” “Weeds”) also star.
Jennifer (Williams-Paisley) and Meg Swift (Williams) are sisters who couldn’t be closer despite living in different cities. Meg comes to Salt Lake City from her hometown in Hazelwood to see her sister Jennifer, who runs a local restaurant in town. Still feeling the effects of losing their Uncle Dave (Nealon), a change of scenery and a project to dive into are just what she needs. When Jennifer and her teenage son, Simon (Jacob Buster, “Colony”), return to Hazelwood home for a pre-holiday visit with their family, Meg offers to help Jennifer’s staff prepare for a competition among local restaurants that awards the winner money for the charity of its choice. As effusive Meg works alongside the more reserved Joe (Robinson), the restaurant’s manager, the two find their differences are what make them a great team. Swapping cities with her sister leads Meg to her next chapter and just might also bring her an unexpected romance.
“Sister Swap: Christmas in the City” is the second of two movies featuring the Swift sisters. The first movie, “Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday,” premieres Sunday, December 5. While they are interconnected through the journeys of the two sisters, one movie focuses on the story of Jennifer as she spends time in her hometown while the other tells Meg’s tale of her time in Salt Lake City. “Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday” and “Sister Swap: Christmas in the City” feature a unique approach to storytelling as certain scenes are shared between them. Viewers will not need to watch both to follow along but of course, those who do will have an even more merry and bright viewing experience.
“Sister Swap: Christmas in the City” is from Crown Media Productions, LLC. Ashley Wlliams, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Neal Dodson are executive producers. David Wulf serves as producer. Sean McNamara directed from a script by Erik Patterson & Jessica Scott and Claire Boyes & Zac Hug.
